If you live in Massachusetts, you know that dining outdoors right now isn't an easy task.

With snow everywhere and the air temperatures below freezing, the thought of sitting outdoors to enjoy a meal sounds nothing short of dreadful. Normally this time of year my husband and I move our date nights from the outdoor al fresco patios of our favorite restaurants to inside where it is warm and cozy. But, with COVID restrictions in place around restaurant capacity, length of time at a table, mask wearing, and party size limitations, even eating indoors has become a challenge this season.

I recently found myself staring longingly at a friend's photos online of her night out in Boston where she and her guests got to sit inside a private heated igloo and dine outdoors without the worries of the cold weather and without having to share air space with strangers. If only the drive from the south shore of Massachusetts to Boston weren't such a time commitment then I would be finding myself in a dining igloo every weekend!

Yet, fret not! Once again local restaurants have found a way to be creative and bring increased dining options to their patrons. Even right here on the south shore and the south coast you can find many restaurants that are now providing their guests with heated, sanitized, and private igloos for their winter dining experience.
