New York City Hotels: Staying At The Quin Hotel
The Quin Hotel, a midtown Manhattan spot just a few blocks from Central Park, is preserving its storied past by making art a focal point. Before the hotel opened in the winter of 2013, the residential Buckingham Hotel attracted talented folks like artist Georgia O’Keefe and pianist Ignacy Jan Paderewski. Now sporting a more modern feel, the multi-media art wall instantly grabs attention. Each floor pays tribute to another artist with some permanent and other rotating pieces that are featured throughout the hotel, including from artists like famed graffiti artist Blek le Rat. Here you will find simple and modern rooms. Other nearby spots include Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Museum of Modern Art, Bryant Park, and 6th Ave (or Avenue of the Americas) for some of the city's most high-end shops.
My passion for travel was unlocked when I spent some years living across Europe and South America. I've never been one to shy away from a new adventure, be it swimming with pigs in the Bahamas, bird watching in the Galapagos or Heli-Hiking in British Columbia. And while I used to mostly travel solo, I now like to hit the road with my 4-year-old son, 1-year-old-daughter and husband in tow. The best part of travel to me now is getting to see the world through their eyes. Whether they are petting goats during an Oregon farm stay or making their very own pizza in Idaho, their enthusiasm and joy never fails to remind me of why I love travel.
