Williamsburg, Virginia: Exploring Its Unexpected Side
In this video, we show you some insider picks on what to see and do in Williamsburg, including Historic Jamestown, where visitors can see "the vault" and touch replicas of some of the amazing discoveries made here over the years, created with 3D printers. Another favorite is a Segway Tour with Patriot Tours in Yorktown, where you will cruise by the Nelson House, the home of Thomas Nelson Jr., one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. For food, try Sweet Tea and Barley, where a favorite is the honey-basted pork chop. And for some thrill, head to Busch Gardens for the 4.5-hour Coaster Insider Tour, which takes you inside the world of the park's famous roller coasters and no-wait lines.
My passion for travel was unlocked when I spent some years living across Europe and South America. I've never been one to shy away from a new adventure, be it swimming with pigs in the Bahamas, bird watching in the Galapagos or Heli-Hiking in British Columbia. And while I used to mostly travel solo, I now like to hit the road with my 4-year-old son, 1-year-old-daughter and husband in tow. The best part of travel to me now is getting to see the world through their eyes. Whether they are petting goats during an Oregon farm stay or making their very own pizza in Idaho, their enthusiasm and joy never fails to remind me of why I love travel.
