Traveling with Kids: 72 Hours in the Willamette Valley
Many know the Willamette Valley for its vineyards, but it is also great for a summer road trip with the kids. Life in Willamette Valley moves a little slower, with savory farm-to-table food, scenic landscapes, and tight-knit communities. Our first stop was at the kid-friendly Tacovore, where guac is best enjoyed out on the patio. We started the next day fresh at the Hyatt Place and headed to the Cascades Raptor Center, where nearly 50 raptor bird species live in large outdoor aviaries. Next, we had lunch at Provisions Market Hall, stopped for craft beer at the Sky High Brewery in Corvallis, and headed to Philomath, where we visited Soft Star Shoes and Nectar Creek Meadery to sample honey and meads. The third day caught us visiting Albany, its Historic Albany Carousel & Museum, and Albany Art Studio. Finally, we spent the last night of our family-friendly trip in an airstream trailer at The Vintages Trailer Resort in Dundee, watching the sunset and making S'mores.
