The Broadmoor, Colorado Springs: The Perfect Holiday Getaway

Visiting The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs is special at any time of year, as the hotel is a super kid-friendly destination. However, the resort is particularly joyous during Christmas, so I couldn't wait to arrive with TJ and Everett and make the most of our pre-holiday getaway. We came up to experience the White Lights Ceremony, which is held the first weekend in December. Hotel guests are invited to listen to live Christmas music then countdown to cue over one million lights to turn on across the property. We enjoyed everything from swimming to bowling onsite and checking out the several different dining concepts. And just up the road, you don't want to miss the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, where the Giraffe Feeding Experience is a true highlight.

My passion for travel was unlocked when I spent some years living across Europe and South America. I've never been one to shy away from a new adventure, be it swimming with pigs in the Bahamas, bird watching in the Galapagos or Heli-Hiking in British Columbia. And while I used to mostly travel solo, I now like to hit the road with my 4-year-old son, 1-year-old-daughter and husband in tow. The best part of travel to me now is getting to see the world through their eyes. Whether they are petting goats during an Oregon farm stay or making their very own pizza in Idaho, their enthusiasm and joy never fails to remind me of why I love travel.
