Have you ever wanted to dine in those “igloos” that look like a bubble? They offer a unique and Instagram- worthy dining experience which happens to be more COVID-safe because of it's private nature.

For those in the Northern Virginia area, there are a few restaurants offering this experience:

The Black Sheep Restaurant in Manassas

From the outside, The Black Sheep is just an old dairy barn, but on the inside, they’ve converted into a beautiful restaurant or what they call “noshery.” Their specialities are wine, whiskey, and delicious plates made of ingredients sourced from local farms. After looking at their menu, you’ll find it difficult to decide between a shrimp and lobster sushi plate or a bacon tower - but what do you expect from a place that boasts of their comfort food!

And just to make the experience better, they have the option to dine in a heated igloo. Each bubble can accommodate 6-8 people, just make sure to book ahead of time.

To make a reservation in a winter igloo call 703-420-2028. To make a reservation inside, visit their website.

2 Silos Brewing Company in Manassas, VA

If you're more of a beer person than a wine person, then go next door from The Black Sheep to 2 Silos Brewing Company. They also offer an igloo experience while you enjoy some beer and snacks. For those looking for awesome deals, visit on a Tuesday for their all day happy hour 11 AM - 9 PM.

King and Rye in Old Town Alexandria

Lovers of southern food - so basically everyone, because who doesn’t love some soul food - are in for a treat with this one! King & Rye in the heart of Old Town Alexandria is known for its southern cuisines and fine collections of whiskeys and bourbons.

Starting in March, they are opening up their version of igloo dining that they call their “greenhouses.” This form of private dining is the perfect way to kick off Spring!

Osteria Marzano in Alexandria

For authentic Italian food, head to Osteria Marzano to enjoy hand-made pasta and Neopolitan pizza. They also offer a generous happy hour from 3-5 PM every single day that includes drinks for $4-7.

Outdoor dining in what they call their "winter globes" is available in two sizes, two for larger parties and many others for smaller parties.

Trattoria Villagio in Clifton, VA

If you're still craving Italian food, then also check out Trattoria Villagio. They have creamy pasta dishes to die for and a large selcetion of wines to choose from.
