The Concorde Hotel: Elevating Your Stay in New York City

Carlos L.

The Concorde Hotel New York is a 4-Star luxury boutique hotel located within the Park Avenue Plaza District. The intimate, modern structure recently underwent an extensive transformation of its 122 minimalistic rooms, elegant lobby and expansive use of public space. The building’s architecture captures the brilliancy of natural light that enters the rooms and takes advantage of the exceptional North-South perspective, capitalizing on the glittering panoramic views of the New York City skyline.

The design creates a Zen-like encounter with all rooms being light and airy, minimally decorated with furniture that appears to be floating, and some of the most spacious bathrooms available in Manhattan hotels.

Each floor houses a maximum of four guest rooms granting near private access to the rooms, with a residential feel. From the 5th to the 14th floor, each has one front-facing suite including the Terrace One Bedroom Suite on the 10th floor, which offers sweeping views of the city. Inside the Concorde Hotel’s lobby is BonSaii Café and Tapas Bar, serving breakfast and lunch that transforms into a tapas and wine bar at 5pm.

I recently enjoyed a “staycation” of sorts at the Concorde Hotel with my girlfriend and it was quite enjoyable. One of the first things I noticed was to relatively big windows and the amazing view of 55th street. The room absolutely gave me an upscale vibe and I also felt a nice sense of security being that access to the elevator is impossible without a keycard.

We were a little hungry so we decided to take a walk around 5th Avenue to see if we could find a bite. There’s are honestly so many choices I won’t even list them for fear of missing something, there is also a plethora of high fashion retailers if you get the retail itch. Some notable locations around the hotel include Central Park, Rockefeller Center and the Museum of Modern Art. With all the food choices available to us, we settled on Chipotle because sometimes you just want to keep things simple.

The bed was extremely comfortable and the light switches were within arm's reach so I didn’t have to get up to get the mood lighting just right. Above every else though, my favorite feature had to be the bathroom. The Concorde Hotel has some of the most spacious bathrooms available in Manhattan hotels; each with a separate shower area and bathtub. The hotel provides guests with Molten Brown toiletries—as well as bathrobes and slippers—guaranteeing that each stay is memorable and relaxing.

Hand down my favorite part happened was our breakfast at Bonsaii. We had an amazing vanilla chai latte that would rival the best cafes in Paris and my ham (which I usually don’t eat) egg and cheese croissant was a great size and perfect for a Saturday morning breakfast.

All in all, I had an extremely pleasant stay at the Concorde and it’s really easy for me to recommend the hotel to anyone who wants something that gives you a sense of luxury and privacy unlike many hotels around the city. Whether you coming to the city to visit or simply crave a “staycation” like me, the Concorde is definitely a solid option. concordehotelnewyork.com
