Sweet Buns Bakery is now open by the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa's Uptown. The Asian bakery is originally from Gainesville and has the same ownership as Yummy House. It is yet another new business to come to the area in recent years and now is joined by other concepts like Bento Cafe.
The concept is similar to a popular chain called 85°C Bakery Café , a Taiwanese bakery chain that serves a variety of baked breads and pastries as well as drinks to customers. 85°C Bakery Café is currently experiencing rapid expansion across the United States.
Most of the baked goods range from around $2 to $5 with a wide-variety of products. The best strategy is to visit with family or friends and stock up on a few baked goods to share. Baked goods range from savory choicesl such as hot dog, ham, and egg to sweet options including sweet cream, pineapple, and coconut...to name a few.
The best time to go is early in the morning when most of the product is available, Sweet Buns immediately became a popular spot to go near the college town area and the concept is still not commonly found around the Tampa Bay area. The inside has plenty of seating and pretty friendly staff as well. Please be aware that masks are required due to COVID-19.
This concept is notably competing with a number of bubble tea shops already in the area which usually sell snacks and sweet beverages, but those cafes have a limited menu. There is a quite a few other Asian concepts currently in the works for the neighborhood.
According to the Sweet Buns website the stores "feature free wifi, made-to-order baked goods, cakes, and a relaxing environment to study or just hang and enjoy some sweets."
The bakery is located at 2788 East Fowler Avenue,Tampa, FL 33612. Head over soon and try it for yourself.
