The Upstate’s best-kept secret is out – you have to visit The Red Horse Inn in Landrum, S.C.
Asher and I decided to visit a few weeks ago and fell in love with the scenery.
Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and about 45 minutes from downtown Greenville, S.C., The Red Horse Inn boasts exquisite views and southern charm and is heralded as “one of America’s most romantic inns” by Travel and Leisure.
The inn has options for both rooms and cottages and is also a wedding venue. Our favorite part is the wine bar, open to the inn guests as well as the public.
The wine bar, including the live music and seating area, is located on the terrace overlooking the mountains.
And while the place is beautiful and the people are so welcoming and kind, my favorite part might be Phinney, the little Juliana pig. Phinney roams around the premises, and it is THE CUTEST THING.
Just down the road, is downtown Landrum, S.C., one of my favorite small towns and the perfect place to visit when staying at the Red Horse Inn. Eat at places like The Hare and Hound or Stone Soup, shop at Crawfords and The Apothecary (my favorite) or stop by the Red Horse Cafe for a treat.
Next time you’re in the Upstate, I highly recommend visiting The Red Horse Inn for an overnight stay, the wine bar, the views, or just because you like pigs. Let Phinney know we sent you.
