(ATLANTA, Ga.) A team of McDonald employees got a special 'thank you' from Lil Yachty.

The 24-year-old, Atlanta native stopped by a McDonald's located in Atlanta where he thanked the staff for their impressive customer service.

It didn't end there: Lil Yachty engaged with them and showed off his skills for making the perfect McChicken sandwich. "I promise y'all I used to do this," he says to the team as he starts to prepare the sandwich in a TikTok video of the event. "I got this!"

Lil Yachty knows a thing or to about the importance of supporting your co-workers to improve customer experience. Prior to his rap career, he was an employee of McDonald's.

In the video, he expresses his gratitude for the workers saying:

"I just want to send big appreciation to all the crew workers," Lil Yachty says. "I once worked at McDonald's so I know what it is like working in that field. I just want to send a big thank you to everyone out here. Appreciate you hard and heavy."

Lil Yachty's surprise was made possible through McDonald's "Thank You Crew," a program where consumers can thank employees (including management) at their favorite location. One you submit your story of appreciation for your local store, a franchise will pick a winner and award the staff.

“I learned a lot working at McDonald’s before my music career took off, and this visit brought those memories right back,” Lil Yachty says in a McDonald's press release. “I give huge credit to all the McDonald’s crew showing up and working hard every single day. They deserve big things, real celebrations, and I’m here for that.”

He also dined-in and ate a McChicken sandwich with fries, says The Source via NewsBreak.
