New Life Church in Colorado Springs to begin big commercial building project in the InterQuest area

A new retail project is coming to the booming InterQuest area in north Colorado Springs. However, it is being developed not by a real estate company, but instead by New Life Church.

According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, the church will use part of its parking lot, east of InterQuest and Voyager parkways to build a 7,836-square-foot, single-story, multi-tenant retail and restaurant building on 2.1 acres. This will be just west of the current Dutch Bros coffee shop, according to a proposal submitted to Colorado Springs city government planners. The plan was administratively approved on October 21, 2021.

Also, according to the article in the Gazette, New Life Church will lease the space to three restaurants and a home improvement store. In the article, the church's senior pastor, Brady Boyd mentioned that ground has already been broken and the project is targeted to be completed by this summer.

This latest building project adds to the already booming InterQuest area that has seen the recent addition of dozens of restaurants, stores, entertainment venues, and even hotels. Lately, the area has also seen an increase of hundreds of apartments and townhomes.

Some of the establishments that exist now or are in the planning stages include In-N-Out Burger, Scheels All Sports, the Great Wolf Lodge and Water Park, Whataburger, Shake Shack, Regal Cinemas, and Springhill Suites by Marriott.

Now also joining this rapid North Colorado Springs real estate development, is the evangelical Christian ministry of New Life Church. The current property and buildings of New Life Church occupy nearly 30 acres northeast of InterQuest and Voyager parkways and are worth a total market value of over $42 million, El Paso County land records show.
