There are so many great restaurants to visit in Fort Smith, but there is one when you first roll into downtown that is more unique than the rest. Located inside a bank is a restaurant that has been in business for a few years, serving culture and cuisine. The Rialto restaurant was founded by Keith Jeremiah and James Thomas after the Fianna Hills Country Club closed its doors.
The concept was simple, to bring the country club experience to the public. Located in the First Security Bank building, the Rialto sits in the former spot of the Town Club. The restaurant has become a popular spot because it has a unique culture and menu that you won't find anywhere else. This is a wonderful place where you can stop for lunch or dinner, and you won't find the same experience anywhere else.
There are two menus here, a lunch menu and a dinner menu. I tend to go for dinner because I like to enjoy the live music that they have from time to time. Now it should be noted that The Rialto also has a full wine menu. So you won't just have the same tired dinner that you've had at other restaurants. The wine selection is great, and there are many hand picked offerings to choose from.
The first thing that you need to try are the great appetizers, and in this case I had the fried green tomatoes. They were served in a Boursin & Chipotle ranch sauce that was wonderful. Then I moved onto the entree and decided to have the JT's Chicken. This is a dish exclusive to The Rialto, and when you taste the flavor, you will be sold.
The chicken is prepared in Jack Daniels, mushroom, and cream sauce. The flavor is exceptional, and then you take the simple sides, and it only adds to the flavor. The whipped potatoes are incredibly fresh and hot, and the flavor is excellent. The asparagus is also served fresh and was steamed to perfection. This is a healthy meal that won't leave you feeling overstuffed, but the abundance of flavor was top notch.
When it comes to a great atmosphere and elegant menu, you can't go wrong at The Rialto. This great restaurant has been a staple of downtown Garrison Ave for a while now and there is a good reason for that. You won't find another restaurant serving such delicious food and culture in the Fort Smith area, and the unique location in the bank building is even cooler. The outdoor seating provides a wonderful ambiance.
