What's All The Commotion About This Fort Smith Taco Spot?

Cameron Eittreim

If there is one food that I am partial to the most, it is the taco. There is just something about the simplicity and wonderful flavor of a good taco. It doesn't take much to make one right, but it takes the right fresh ingredients and the right sauce. Whether you eat you tacos cold or you like them piping hot, there are a variety of ways to enjoy a good taco. Personally, I enjoy a simple taco with a lot of salsa poured onto the top.

The burst of flavor and spice makes it worth it, and I am not too impressed with cheese on my tacos. I prefer vegetables and the meat much more. Searching around Fort Smith has been fun as there are plenty of delicious taco spots to choose from. But one hot afternoon, I found one that was even better than the places I had eaten at before. Mexican Food El Oaxaqueño is located on a busy stretch of North O Street in Fort Smith.

This is not a restaurant, this is a food truck, but that's how I like it. When you first walk up to it the premises around the place are very well kept. There are clean benches where you can sit, and the aroma of the food is awesome. The menu is simple, and to the point, there are all the traditional classics and the specialty, tacos.

I had four tacos with Asada served on an open plate. The service was remarkably fast and the food was fresh. There was just the right amount of cilantro, lime, and onion on the top of the dish. The tortillas were also fresh and delicious. I had a choice of mild or hot salsa, and I went for the hot stuff. Poured over the top of these tacos, the flavor was exceptional. The meat was also seasoned to perfection, which made the dish perfect.

There are an abundance of different meats that you can choose from for the taco filling. I had the asada but the chicken is delicious as well. Whether you choose beef or chicken, the taco still has some of the best flavor I have had. There are also other menu items worth checking out, such as the burritos.

The staff is friendly and the prices are affordable, making this a great lunch or dinner spot. Whether you want something in a pinch or just have a taste for fresh tacos, you will enjoy the delicious taco no matter what.
