Santa Fe, New Mexico, is one of the most culturally diverse communities in the country. There is so much natural beauty, and within that beauty is a great local culinary scene. The food choices in Santa Fe are almost endless, there is a taste for just about everyone. As you'd expect from the wonderful Tuscan scenery and warm temperatures, the barbecue here is great.
I like to try barbecue in almost every town I visit, so naturally the selection intrigued me here. There is a certain taste that I want my barbecue to have. It has to be spicy, but not so much so that it takes away from the flavor of the meat. These are a few places that I visited where the sauce was delicious and the meat was grilled to perfection.
Santa Fe BBQ

Santa Fe BBQ is one of my favorite places to eat when we visit the city. The menu is made up of the usual barbecue fare that you'd expect. Whether you want a brisket or some ribs, you are bound to find something delicious to eat here. The unique thing about Santa Fe BBQ is the great sauce that they make in house. The flavor combination is unlike anything else I could have expected, and that is equally the case with the brisket.
The meat on the brisket was falling off of the bone, and when it comes to a brisket that is one of the most important things to me. You won't find a better barbecue place in the area for the price, and the quality of the food is exceptional. The chicken was also grilled to perfection, which made for a delicious meal. The side dishes were nice and hot, and the macaroni and cheese was baked, which is my favorite recipe. Santa Fe BBQ is well worth visiting if you are in the area.
The Ranch House

Usually if a place is called The Ranch House you know that it is going to be good. The Ranch House is serving up some great local barbecue, in addition to a full bar with cocktails. The atmosphere here is very friendly and welcoming, you can't go wrong with what it has to offer. The unique blend of hipster and barbecue works together nicely. Which is why I couldn't wait to open the menu and see what this place had to offer.
I wasn't disappointed either as the food is some of the best that you'll have. From a sheer barbecue perspective the brisket is nice and juicy with plenty of flavor. Mosey on over to the chicken side of things and you will have some of the best grilled chicken breast that you've ever had. The brats and links are also delicious and have wonderful flavorings. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is served relatively quickly. If you have a hankering for great barbecue, then you can't go wrong when you take a trip here.
