Who Has The Tastiest Diner In Brooklyn, New York?

Cameron Eittreim

Diner food is the pinnacle of cuisine when you are a young traveler. Diners are open 24 hours in most cases and serve a varied menu from place to place. Whether you want breakfast, dinner or the occasional pie, you will find it at most diners. What makes Brooklyn unique is the abundance of nightlife, which means there are also plenty of diners to choose from. When I had my last visit to the borough, I decided to try a few of the most notable diners in the area. These are a few spots that I decided to try, and why you should try them too.

Diner NYC

85 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY 11249

Located in a funky and cool retro rail car, I had to try this diner, because it was well the epiphany of everything that I think a diner should be. Don't let the simplistic stylings fool you, though, because the food is well prepared and the staff here is wonderful. Once you are seated, you'll get to look at the pretty classic menu options. The grass-fed and finished burger uses fresh grass-fed beef with aged cheddar on top and locally sourced lettuce.

I'm here to tell you that you've never had a true diner burger until you've had one from here. Then we have the most unique dinner item on the menu, the pork chop. Served with mashed potatoes and broccoli, the meat is succulent and fresh. I generally don't have the chance to have a pork chop on the road, so I was pleased to have one here. There is also a nice selection of craft beers to choose from, and the staff here is very conversational. Overall, we had a great time visiting this one of a kind diner.

Mike's Diner of Brooklyn

1454 86th St, Brooklyn, NY 11228

Another well known staple in Brooklyn is Mike's Diner, and it has been serving customers for some time now. For a classic no-frills diner with an extensive menu to choose from, you can't go wrong here. This is a simple diner with a lot to offer. You won't need a reservation or deep pocketbook. The menu is quite diverse, with plenty of the favorites that you'd expect at a diner. I had the chicken and waffle dinner, and it had some of the most delicious flavor I've ever had.

There are also other breakfast items that you can choose from, no matter what time of the day it is. The gravy is made from the freshest ingredients, and the rest of the ingredients for the biscuits and gravy are also made fresh. Maybe you want something lighter, like a Rueben sandwich? Well, you'll find that here as well. Mike's Diner is one of the most delicious diners in Brooklyn, and you should definitely check it out.
