Who Has The Tastiest Barbecue In Brooklyn, New York?

Cameron Eittreim

When you think about barbecue, Brooklyn, New York probably isn't the first place that comes to mind, is it? When you think of Brooklyn, you automatically think about hot and fresh pizza being served over the counter all night. But low and behold, there is actually quite a barbecue scene in Brooklyn, and the food is divine. The thing about Brooklyn barbecue is that it infuses many flavors from local culture. These are a few of my favorite local barbecue spots to eat at in Brooklyn when I am in the city visiting.

Hometown Bar-B-Que

454 Van Brunt St, Brooklyn, NY 11231

When you visit Brooklyn, the first thing you will notice is the abundance of nightlife that the borough has to offer. There is so much to do, and Brooklyn doesn't get the credit that it deserves for cultivating such a unique nightlife. There is always something to do in Brooklyn whether it be a craft beer festival or a local music venue that's playing. Hometown Bar-B-Que takes all these great things and adds them. The live music venue always has something going on, and the prices to get in are affordable.

These local music acts range in different focuses but needless to say the music is always great. The menu has all of the barbecue options that you've come to expect. Whether you want brisket, pulled pork, or even ribs you are going to find it here. The drink menu is also specially tailored to the nightlife crowd, and there is quite a selection to choose from. Don't even get me started on how delicious the side dishes are either, this place has something for everyone.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que

604 Union St, Brooklyn, NY 11215

With a name like this, this place has you know the food had to be good, or at least that's what made me want to try it. Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is a unique location that serves up some of the most delicious barbecue in the Borrough. The menu is southern inspired with a good deal of the classic favorites that you've come to expect. I had the brisket and baked beans complete with a side of sausage and the flavor was excellent. The meat is not grilled to the point where you can't enjoy the flavor, and the in-house sauce is delicious.

This place also has a live music venue like the other place that I went to, and you can't go wrong with that. There was live rock music playing when I went there and the volume wasn't so high that you couldn't enjoy the music. The crowds are generally respectful and restaurant has a very chill vibe to it which makes it enjoyable. I would go as far as to say that this is a family friendly place where you can even bring the kids out to enjoy a great night.
