Check Out The Real Life Sopranos Restaurant Locations In New Jersey

Cameron Eittreim

The Sopranos was one of the most popular TV shows on cable for many years, and even to this day the show is garnering a brand new audience. It's no mystery that the show was based in New Jersey, and many filming locations were based on real locations around New Jersey. I've always had a fascination with the series, and I have always wanted to visit some of the real locations.

On a recent trip to New Jersey I went to go seek out some of the most well known locations. I wanted to find Artie Bucco's restaurant and the filming locations for the pork store as well. These are real places that you can go visit and they are fairly easy to go find. Here are a few real life restaurant locations from the Sopranos.

The Nuovo Vesuvio

4115 34th Ave, Long Island City, NY 11101

This was the setting for almost every restaurant scene in the Sopranos. The restaurant is owned by Tony's friend Artie Bucco. The real life name of the restaurant is Punta Dura, and the location is actually in Long Island City, New York. In the show, it was believed the restaurant was located in New Jersey, but that wasn't the case. As of 2022, the restaurant is permanently closed to the public.

Satriale's Pork Store

101 Kearny Avenue, Kearny, NJ 07032

Satriale's Pork Store was a pivotal point in the Sopranos series, as the main base of operations for Tony and the crew. The location was a real building on Kearny Avenue, and it was a functioning deli at one point in time. But the building was demolished in 2007 after the show completed its series finale. The location is still there, although it has since become a parking lot, but the rest of the neighborhood looks exactly the same.

Pizza Land

260 Belleville Turnpike, North Arlington, NJ 07031

Pizza Land is one of the most iconic locations in New Jersey, as it is the pizza place featured in the opening credits of the Sopranos for the entire run. Located right off the turnpike when you get into town, this is a real function pizza parlor that has been in business for decades. The place has a full menu with great food, and the owner is always willing to allow tourists to snap a photo. You'll have to check Pizza Land out and get some photos.

1063 Broad St, Bloomfield, NJ 07003

The diner featured in the final episode of the Sopranos is indeed a real location, but it's not just a diner, they also serve ice cream. The place showcases the fact that it was featured in the Sopranos, and even offers a Sopranos themed restaurant tour of the filming locations. The menu has great food to choose from, and everything is made fresh. This is the quintessentially must visit location for any fan of the Sopranos.
