Who Has The Tastiest Ribs In Tucson, Arizona?

Cameron Eittreim

It's that time of the year again, where we all gather around and enjoy the sunshine and barbecued food. But, what if you don't feel like lighting up the grill to enjoy a rack of delicious ribs? Well, in Tucson, Arizona, there are a few well known spots that are tearing the culinary scene up. These places are serving up some of the most mouthwatering ribs you've had.

I love the desert region, so I am right at home eating ribs in good old Tucson. The community of pit bosses here in this city is unparalleled anywhere else. You might think you'd have to go to Memphis to get great barbecue, but you can find it right here in Tucson. Of course, today I am not just talking about any type of barbecue, I am talking about ribs. Below, we'll look at a few of my favorite spots to find some good ribs in Tucson.

BrushFire BBQ Co.

2745 N Campbell Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719

Tucson has a unique culture that's only amplified by the local culinary scene. That culinary scene centers around regional Mexican food and barbecue. There are quite a few barbecue joints to choose from in the area, but one that caught my attention is BrushFire BBQ Co. Just the name alone invokes thoughts of being outside on a hot summer night in the desert barbecuing some great food.

The menu has all the standard favorites when it comes to barbecue. I had the beef brisket with a side of mashed potatoes. The flavor of the brisket was definitely bold, with enough spice to get your attention. The flavor of the food isn't overpowering, though, and the diversity of the menu makes this a great place to bring the family. The food is served hot to order, and the staff behind the counter is welcoming and knowledgeable.

BBQ Rush

5151 S Country Club Rd, Tucson, AZ 85706

Another barbecue place I visited while I was in Tucson was BBQ Rush. This place got great reviews for their ribs, so I decided it was worth a shot. I wasn't disappointed when I got here either, as you could smell the delicious BBQ as soon as you walked into the restaurant. The menu is well laid out from the gate, and there is more to see here than just barbecue.

But the baby back pork ribs were incredibly delicious, nice and succulent with enough flavor. I love ribs with more meat than fat, and these ribs were excellent. There was a dry rub underneath the sauce, and it made all the difference in the world. In addition to the delicious baby back ribs I had, the side dishes were excellent too. For a great second choice, I recommend stopping by BBQ Rush in Tucson if you want some great ribs.
