Who Has The Tastiest Ribs In Myrtle Beach, South Carolina?

Cameron Eittreim

There is something special about going to the beach, which is why Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is such a popular tourist destination. From the wonderful Myrtle Beach Safari to the countless unique museums and shops, there is so much to do here. But, after finding all those activities, you will naturally be hungry.

Depending on what you are in the mood for, a rack of ribs cannot be beaten. The taste is never the same, and it is unique to each area. Ribs are generally served with a healthy side, and this dish is hardy enough to keep your belly full during your travels. The rib scene in Myrtle Beach is unique, and here are a few of my favorite stops in the wonderful oceanfront town.

Simply Southern Smokehouse

1913 Mr. Joe White Ave, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

If you've been yearning for classic home cooking when you visit Myrtle Beach, then the Simply Southern Smokehouse is the place for you. I come here for the ribs, but the menu is far more diverse than just that. There are braised chicken, pork, and various barbecued meats to choose from. Of course, when it comes to great barbecue, the sauce is the most important thing, and the sauce here is a delicacy.

The side dishes are probably the focal point of most meals here, because the servings are exceptionally large. You will leave here with a full belly, and you cannot eat ribs or other barbecue without a great side dish. There is also a kids menu with many family favorites that you'll be familiar with. The atmosphere and spirit here at the restaurant are fun and welcoming, it always feels like a party is going on.

Sweet Carolina's

1207 Celebrity Cir, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577

You cannot go to South Carolina without trying some authentic Carolina flavor at least once. Sweet Carolina's has a name that sounds like they are serving up great tasting food. The menu here has a lot of great offering, but I settled on the pork spare ribs. I prefer pork over the other cuts of meat, and as far as ribs go, I feel like pork ribs offer the best flavor.

The sauce here was quite tangy and sweet, which makes eating the ribs much more enjoyable. The ribs are served with a side of green beans, mac and cheese, and fried shrimp. The combination of the flavors made for an excellent meal. Sure, you could go to a chain restaurant, but you won't get the delicious flavor that you'll get here.
