Top Chinese Restaurants in Sacramento

Californiacalories

The Northern California city of Sacramento is probably not one that many folks consider as a place with top-notch Chinese food. After all of the dining and tasting that I have done in the area, I personally hope to do my part in changing that opinion. The city is lucky enough to feature some of the most amazing Chinese restaurants in all of Northern California. If you are in the area and would like to treat yourself to some of the hot and savory Chinese offerings, then keep reading to learn about the top Chinese food restaurants in Sacramento.

Frank Fat's

Located on L street, Frank Fat’s has been serving up some of the best Chinese fair in the area since as far back as the 1930s. Once you give this place a try, you will see exactly why they have had such staying power in the area. Their garlic edamame is a great, light appetizer to get started with. They specialize in large offerings to feed the entire family. Bring a big crowd and order their Saigon Crispy Chicken to share. The noodle lovers in your crew will enjoy their Sang Gai Shee Chow Mein with chicken and mushroom. The crowd pleaser when I bring family and friends to this restaurant has to be the Peking duck, extra crispy extra delicious. With their large, family-style offerings, I encourage you and your fellow diners to bring your appetites.

What I recommend: Honey walnut prawns, Peking duck

Those Dim Sum lovers in your life will need to look no further for those tasty small plates they love than Yue Huang. Located on Truxel Road, this place serves up Dim Sum mornings, noon, and night. They feature all of my usual favorites including steamed pork bao, crispy duck, seaweed salad, and fresh spring rolls. One of my favorite items here has to be their siu mai, which is a shrimp and pork dumpling of the sort. They even feature some incredible dessert options. Though you will find yourself tempted to fill up on their small plates, I insist you save room to coddle that sweet tooth and treat yourself to an order of their mango pudding.

What I recommend: siu mai and pineapple buns are really good here

Yang's Noodles

Gather up the noodle lovers in your life and take them directly to Yang’s Noodles. Located on Stockton Boulevard, they are the best stop in town for all of my favorite traditional Taiwanese and Sichuan comfort foods. There's something about a restaurant that serves hand pulled noodles that makes the experience so much better. Their hand pulled noodles are some of the best in the area! On a cool day, there is nothing I like better than a heaping helping of their preserved vegetables and shredded pork noodle soup. For the vegetarians, they make a seaweed tofu soup that is worth the trip. There are even plenty of options for the seafood lovers. I recommend trying their Sichuan boiled fish.

What I recommend: hand pulled noodles and their Sichuan boiled fish

Location: 5860 Stockton Blvd Sacramento, CA 95824

As much as I wish that you will be able to visit and enjoy a trip to each of the above listed restaurants, I take comfort in knowing that no matter which of them you choose to enjoy your next meal, you are ensured a fantastic dining experience. Their offerings will have you covered whether you are craving a comforting bowl of soup, a couple of my dim sum favorites, or a family-style feast. Be sure to show up hungry and bring the whole gang.
