A Nassau County judge released a man this morning accused of "kidnapping" his girlfriend after a loud argument.

The two lovers got into it outside her house in Roosevelt on Friday afternoon, according to statements made at the arraignment today of Kamani Roach, 29. According to his very angry girlfriend, as she stood next to his car yelling at him, Roach grabbed her cellphone and shoved her into his car. Then they drove off together -- he and his fuming beloved -- while the clash continued.

Maybe he was hoping they could enjoy the rest of the Veterans Day holiday . . . together.

It's unclear how police got involved. But at some point, Roach made a decision to drive his girlfriend to the police station in Baldwin.

Now he's charged with kidnapping.

Reading from what the Nassau District Attorney's office is calling Roach's "Statement of Admission", the Assistant DA described Roach's alleged confession after they pulled into the 1st Precinct parking lot on Merrick Road in Baldwin. Ignoring all advice about not talking to police without an attorney, Roach allegedly "admitted" that "he forcibly grabbed her and pushed her inside the car" .

"I just wanted to take her home," Roach told police at the 1st Precinct Station House, according to the Assistant DA.

At the request of the Assistant DA, the Judge issued an Order of Protection for the "complaining witness". He warned Roach to avoid his ex completely and ignore any messages from her while that order is in place. The order expires 1 year from today.

The Assistant DA then asked Judge Nocella to set Bail at $75,000. Kidnapping is Bail Qualifying under New York's Bail Reform law.

But Roach's lawyer pointed out that Roach was never arrested before, has a construction job, and "literally" drove his girlfriend to the police station.

The judge agreed: No Bail.

"The question here is whether he's a flight risk," said Judge Nocella. "Despite the seriousness of the charges, I don't feel Bail would be warranted here."

Instead, Roach was released to "Pre-Trial Services" with an electronic ankle monitor to ensure he returns to court to address the Felony charges.

Roach lives with his uncle in Jamaica, Queens. His brother attended his arraignment today, with his baby Pit Bull. The 21-year-old (ex?-)girlfriend did not.

Roach is charged with Kidnapping, which is a Felony, and Unlawful Imprisonment, which is a Misdemeanor. He pleaded Not Guilty to everything. He's due back in court November 20.
