Americans said goodbye to many well-known retailers. The change brought thousands in savings due to closing down sales. The retail crisis stirred feelings in many shoppers.

While you might assume it is happiness for marked-down prices. You may also consider sadness if the store had the love of many. A surprising twist is on display via TikTok.

Some shoppers think the closures are well-deserved.

They note that the stores embody capitalism and had to go. Bed Bath & Beyond is at the center of the controversy as creators slam the brand.

TikTok user Diedra B accused the company of sneaky price markup. The trick prevents customers from getting discounts during its liquidation sale. The company urged people to take advantage of sale prices. But not everyone thinks the costs are fair.

In Diedra's video, the previous price was $20. But an employee tried and failed to cover the amount out with a marker. The new figure for the item is $28.

In the comment section, several users noted they saw prices marked up rather than down. Others claimed, "This is why they are going out of business 🤣." Someone said the sale was not that good. An alleged employee explained the store had to account for inflation and the liquidator's rules.
