One beloved store on Long Island is selling everything to clear shelves for closure. The news disappoints many who grew up with the retailer. Residents said the shop gave them years of healthy, natural groceries.
The permanent closure is set for May 18.
The business opened in 1994. After almost 30 years of service, the brand became a staple for Long Land shoppers. The family-owned grocery store offered natural healthcare products and fresh foods. Their website said, "The production of food should support life, promote well-being, and protect the world’s natural resources."
A sign on Natural Market's door announced the impending lockdown.
If you want to check it out before the closure, the location is 140 7th Street, Garden City, NY 11530.
Natural Market
The store offered unique health products, which were hard to find elsewhere.
For people with unique diet needs, it was the only place to easily find natural products. The store catered to shoppers with food allergies and sensitive immune systems. It also stocked vitamins for all aliment needs.
The shopping experience was enjoyable and the staff was friendly. The announcement on the door said workers had the option to move to the store's three other locations.
The Long Island store could not stay open because of rising costs to stock shelves.
