It is that time again. It is a time when you and other New Jersey residents receive rebates. The amount is between $450 and $1,500. Select groups are eligible for the money as officials aim to provide cash relief.

Over 800,000 New Jersey residents saw the payments in their bank accounts in April. The disbursements will continue in May. A New Jersey Department of Treasury spokesperson confirmed 1.4 million rebates went out last week. People who get rebates via mail will receive theirs in May

The fund is under the Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR) program. 1.2 million homeowners and 900,000 renters will gain from the initiative.

How do you gain this benefit?

You must have filled out an application by February 28. The amount received depends on your income and homeowner status. You should have also owned or rented the property on October 1, 2019.

  • Homeowners earning between $150,000 and $250,000: $1,000
  • Homeowners earning up to $150,000: $1,500
  • Renters earning up to $150,000: $450

If you qualify and have no information missing from your application, you will get the money by month's end.
