Stonewall Jackson Death House In Virginia

There are many facts that we near hear when it comes to the way that many within the Civil War met their demise, but one site tells the story of how Stonewall Jackson spent his final days. Using the same bed frame which is currently on display, a family in the Virginia area prepared a room for a sick Jackson, in hopes it it being a waypoint before getting him proper medical attention by train. Little did they know, the train had been taken over and no help would come. Instead Jackson would die in the very room he was seeking refuge in on those days in 1863. This site is now available for touring and a small stop to learn more about the family which once called this land home, the events which took place to bring Jackson to this stage in his life and how ultimately he passed.
