(ALAMEDA COUNTY, Calif.) Alameda County will reinstitute its mask mandate, effective June 3 at midnight, in light of the recent rise of COVID-19 cases.

According to the county's COVID-19 dashboard, both the county's seven-day average and its overall case count have continually increased over the past month.

As of June 3, residents will be asked to mask up in indoor areas like restaurants and bars when not eating or drinking.
