Walt Disney World is known for many things like its animation, its wildly known movies, and popular park attractions. But did you know that Walt Disney World parks have roller coasters? That’s right! Disney's parks have several types of roller coasters that are family-friendly. Today, I will share with you five must-see roller coasters at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
1. Slinky Dog Dash.
Located inside Disney Hollywood Studios, ride with your pal slinky as you twist and turn through Andy’s backyard past toys. This is a family-friendly ride, so you’ll be able to bring the kiddos along to enjoy all the fun. Lines typically rang but if you're able to show up at park entry you’ll be able to hop on with little to no wait times, which makes room to add more fun to your day at Hollywood Studios.
2. Expedition Everest.
Located inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the ride takes you through the icy Himalayan peaks as you avoid the clutches of the yeti, speeding through the mountains. Inline, you will see artifacts from hikers who climbed Mt. Everest. In photos of the hikers, you will see how they survived hiking in the cold winter peaks and the gear used to reach the top. This ride will not only inform you but will exhilarate you too.
3. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.
Located inside Disney Hollywood studio, you will be greeted with an upside-down limo and a giant guitar. Inside as Aerosmith is wrapping up their recording session and the manager says they're going to be late. The band invites you to come along for the ride as you enter your very own stretch limo. Better buckle up! As you speed off in the dark as you jam out to Aerosmith music. This ride will have you screaming with excitement. Are you ready?
4. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness is located inside Disney's Magic Kingdom, as you enter it’s as if you’ve been transported back in time by seeing red rock mountains. As you board the train, you take your first turn heading up the mountain as the engine speeds up along the rickety track, dodging dynamite throughout the canyon. This ride is great for families with kids, definitely one that will have you with your hands up saying Woo-hoo!
5. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
Heigh-Ho, It’s Off You Go! Located in the Disney Magic Kingdom, whistle while you wait as you explore gems glowing along the line. Inside, as you board your wooden barrel, get ready to speed along the tracks as you navigate hairpin turns. Once inside, you will see glistening gems and the seven dwarfs hardly at work as they sing and whistle. Heading up the peak, take a look to the side where you will spot spectacular views of fantasy land before speeding down the tracks. Be sure at the end to have your phones ready to snap a picture of the evil witch with a poison apple. A great ride for everyone in the family to enjoy.
