We hope you're ready for a peaceful feeling.
- Nick Cannon, best known for being Mariah Carey's ex-husband, welcomed baby number seven with girlfriend Alyssa Scott
- It's the San Diego, California-based couple's first child together
- Cannon has six other children from previous relationships, including two sets of twins
- He's had four babies born in 2021 alone
Congratulations are in order for Nick Cannon and his girlfriend Alyssa Scott, who welcomed a beautiful baby boy just days ago (although the couple just announced his arrival on social media today). The baby, Cannon's seventh child, is his first with Scott and was named Zen.
Sounds like a peaceful kid already, and something Cannon will need plenty of thanks to being part of an ever-growing collection of adorable Cannon babies. In fact, earlier this summer he welcomed a pair of twins, Zion and Zillon, with DJ Abba De La Rosa. The twins are just a handful of days older than their younger brother, Zen. That's a lot of baby bottles!
"I will love you for eternity 🖤 6•23•21" writes the glowing new mom in the first Instagram snap of the newborn.
Scott is a former model who is said to have met Cannon on the set of his show Wild 'N Out, but nobody seems exactly sure of how old she is or exactly how the romance bloomed. Several sources cite her as being a lifelong California resident, likely from the Los Angeles area, but her life before Cannon is cloaked in mystery.
Nick Cannon also welcomed a baby with Brittany Bell just a few months earlier at the beginning of 2021 with now ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell. That baby, aptly named Powerful, joins a four-year-old sibling named Golden. Are you keeping up? Here— we'll simplify the math.
Nick Cannon has had four babies born this year alone, proving his sperm simply doesn't take a break.
As most people know, Nick also shares 10-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, with the most famous of his exes, Mariah Carey. They live in Beverly Hills, partially to be in close proximity to Cannon for visitation— before that, Carey was known for keeping a home in the New York area at all times.
He's up to the task of supporting his brood, too, because his reported net worth is roughly $60,000,000 USD thanks to an assortment of successful TV, film, music, and entertainment projects, as well as the whopping $10 million Carey had to pay out of her own pocket for their divorce settlement.
Cannon, who is 40-years-old, has recently been making headlines for being fired from one of his best-known production gigs for a string of blatantly anti-Semitic statements, and a series of legal battles that followed. Last July, Cannon had a controversial discussion on his "Cannon’s Class" podcast with Richard "Professor Griff" Griffin that was far-ranging. During that now-infamous discussion, Cannon stood by anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and praised Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. Farrakhan is outwardly anti-Semitic. Cannon has reportedly sought to "learn and grow" from his past missteps and is promoting what he calls "counsel culture" to the masses instead of the more typical cancel culture. It seems like since then he's done his best to work on his self-growth through parenthood.
We hope you have many, many happy Father's Day celebrations in the future, Nick (we know you'll at least have a lot of cards)!
