Three people were killed and three others were injured in a shooting at an apartment complex in Georgia on Mother's Day, according to police. The suspect or suspects responsible for the attack have been identified and are being sought by law enforcement officials.
Approximately 8 p.m. on Sunday evening, police were summoned to the Brannon Hill apartment complex, which is situated just outside of Atlanta.
Deputies from DeKalb County arrived at the scene and discovered five victims inside with gunshot wounds. A total of three of those persons were pronounced deceased at the scene, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
Those who survived were sent to the hospital, while a third casualty arrived at the hospital later, according to the police department. When the incident occurred, investigators closed the entrance to the apartment complex while they worked to put together a sequence of events that led to the shooting.
Despite the fact that the suspect has not yet been captured, police said they do not believe there is a present threat to the broader public. The following is an example of our live reportage from the scene. The entrance to the facility was sealed off with crime scene tape, and only official vehicles were permitted to enter and exit the complex.
