The Seminole Heights Police Department has apprehended a man who is suspected of molesting multiple women in the neighborhood. They believe the 16-year-old has been engaging in this behavior for many weeks.
On April 23, one of the victims was walking her dog when the attack occurred. She requested that her identity not be revealed. She became aware that someone had approached her from behind her.
"I was not really paying attention to my surroundings, kind of on my phone. And that's when he grabbed me," she said. "He fully grabbed me on the butt. What was so freaky was he just kept walking. Like, he did not run away."
After her neighbors escorted her home, she tried to come to terms with what had occurred and chose to keep the incident to herself. She ultimately came forward after hearing about it occurring to someone else, according to her account.
The same incident occurred to another lady on April 25 as she was walking her dogs at North Wellington and East Elm.
As he walked away, she took a picture of him.
On Thursday night, Tampa police received a complaint from a lady at the intersection of North Central and East Henry Avenues who said that a guy had grabbed her buttocks and fled.
Unknown to the culprit, a neighbor who was barbecuing in his backyard observed the guy sprinting past and attempted to stop him before police arrived.
The adolescent was arrested and charged with violence, resisting arrest, loitering, and prowling, among other offenses. Since then, he has been freed from custody.
If you suspect you were a victim in one of these incidents, you should notify the Tampa Police Department.
