According to him, the government payroll is full and has no place to contain new workers in the public sector.

“… most people look for a job from government or state institutions, but that payroll is full. I can tell you that because we are spending about 60 percent of our revenue on remunerating some 650,000 people, and that is not sustainable,” he said.

Ofori Atta further indicated that an entrepreneurial mindset is very necessary to ensure sustainability for the youth especially graduates as it offers the opportunity to create wealth.

He added that it is important for graduates to acknowledge the privilege of accessing four years of tertiary education and do their best to impact society through the transformation and renewal of their minds via entrepreneurship.

Ken Ofori Atta was recently in the news after rumours broke out that he has resigned as Finance minister due to health issues.

However, the Finance Minister debunked such rumours as he stated that he is still at post and has not resigned,

This was made known via a statement by the Ministry of Finance.

The statement reads:

"Mr Ken Ofori-Atta is at the post and focused on his mandate, given to him by His Excellency the President, to serve the people of Ghana in his capacity as Finance Minister.

The General public is advised to disregard these rumours"
