The Butler County Sheriff and Butler County Prosecutor announced in a joint press release that on September 14, 2022, a Butler County Grand Jury indicted Alan V. Daniel on seven criminal counts.
Daniel's charge is participating as a voting member of the Butler County Board of Zoning Appeals. As per the press release, the accounts claim that his participation as a voting member of the Board of Madison Township Trustees benefited him personally and his family.
According to the press release, Mr. Daniel has been an elected Madison Township Trustee for approximately 29 years. Daniels faces three counts of having an unlawful interest in a public contract, each a fourth-degree felony, and four counts of using or authorizing his authority or influence of his office to secure anything of value, each a first-degree misdemeanor. The indictment resulted from a joint investigation between the Butler County Sheriff's Office and the Ohio Ethics Commission.
Daniel's recently resigned from the Butler County Board of Zoning Appeals.
