Verified false statements about the 2020 election by former President Donald Trump continue to be his modus operandi. It all seems surreal. This weekend Trump continued to deliver the false claim of winning Georgia in the 2020 election.
On Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 10:10 am Trump posted on the Truth Social platform. Truth Social is a platform for free speech – but the evidence is mixed. Truth Social (stylized as TRUTH Social) is an alt-tech social media platform created by Trump Media & Technology Group, an American media and technology organization. Truth Social is a platform for free speech – but the evidence of this is mixed. He stated that despite winning Georgia in 2016, doing a “fantastic job” as president, and earning millions more votes in 2020 than he did in 2016 and more votes than a sitting president had ever received, he had “shockingly, ‘LOST’ Georgia.”
ABC News reported that Trump made more unsubstantiated claims about what he called the "rigged" and "stolen" election in Georgia. His plan was to continue the rhetoric on Monday at a news conference, however, it was canceled. At the recent advice of his current lawyers, his claims may be dispelled for the moment. His preference is to air his complaints in documented legal filings.
On Thursday, August 24, 2023, Donald Trump will turn himself in at Fulton County Georgia for official booking on his fourth indictment. The most serious charge in this indictment carries a maximum sentence of 20 years. He will go through processing and be released on $200,000 bail. CNN reports there was an unsealed indictment last week. Trump is accused in that piece of being the head of a “criminal enterprise” that was part of a broad criminal conspiracy to overturn his electoral defeat. Other defendants include former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and ex-Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani.
To date, there are four separate criminal cases against former President Donald Trump. He vehemently denies any wrongdoing whatsoever and reports all charges to be politically motivated.
Donald J. Trump is running for President of the United States of America. In a report by Vanity Fair, in 2020, when asked what his middle initial J stood for he replied " Genius". I cannot make this stuff up. Donald J. Trump wants to pledge again to uphold our democracy and The Constitution of the United States of America. He wants to be your highest representative in our American government system. God Bless America.
