As reported by CNN News, agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations have killed Craig Robertson in Utah while attempting to arrest him for making violent threats against President Biden. Biden was slated to arrive in Utah on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
According to prosecutors, Robertson reported “ I hear Biden is coming to Utah”,” Digging out my old Ghille suit and cleaning the dust off the M24 sniper rifle. Welcome, Buffoon-in-Chief.”Craig Robertson had been facing three federal charges which included current presidential threats, impeding federal law enforcement officers by threats, and influencing officers. Robertson owned multiple firearms in Utah. Democratic politicians and prosecutors were a part of Robertsons' violent rants in recent months as well.
The 2024 impeding election and the polarized nation are in preparation for heightened awareness in both the Democratic and Republican parties. Christopher Wray, the eighth director of the FBI, reported that there has been an “unprecedented” level of threats against FBI agents. Craig Robertson also commented online about the Federal Bureau of Investigation- “Hey FBI, you still monitoring my social media? Checking so I can be sure to have a loaded gun handy in case you drop by again.” In a statement to CNN, an FBI spokesperson reported “The FBI is reviewing an agent-involved shooting which occurred around 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, in Provo, Utah. The incident began when special agents attempted to serve arrest and search warrants at a residence. The subject is deceased.” The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously.
By FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI’s Inspection Division.” Credit is given here to CNN reporters Hannah Rabinowitz, Betsy Klien, and Arlette Saenz for their diligence and fine reporting.
