The fourth criminal indictment of former President Donald Trump has already devastated the history books of the United States. At no other time in our long history as a nation has criminal charges been brought with such diversity, ferocity, and quantity. On Monday, August 14, 2023, Donald Trump was charged along with eighteen other individuals in a massive plan to overturn our democratic election of 2020.
The alleged multi-faceted conspiracy runs parallel to Donald Trump’s attempt at acquiring the 47th Presidential seat in the United States of America. He actually may be soon swearing to protect and defend the United States Constitution- the same with which he is accused of defrauding.
This fourth indictment hails from Georgia. The specific charges from this “swing state” brings 91- yes ninety-one- as the total criminal charges hovering over our former United States Commander-in-Chief. Amazingly- to date- he is the lead Republican heading into the 2024 Presidential election. His supporters continue to exclaim that the charges are politically based and hold no merit. They are dismissive of the gravity of the criminal charges and support without question.
The most current indictment from Georgia includes forty-one (41 counts). It states in detail the minutia of an alleged conspiracy to falsify statements of electoral fraud to state officials, influence and pressure local officials, intimidate election workers and solicit Justice Department officials and then-Vice President Mike Pence. In addition, charges include an attempt to unlawfully breach election equipment in Georgia and elsewhere. Advancement of the conspiracy listed in a slew of actions is also part of the document. As quoted by CNN- “Trump and the other defendants charged in this Indictment refused to accept that Trump lost, and they knowingly and willfully joined a conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Trump,” the indictment documented.
The amazing, devastating, historical significance of Donald Trump within our United States Democracy cannot be negated. The global shame and challenges to our Founding Fathers are somewhat beyond comprehension.
