MANHATTAN - A straphanger was choked at the Wall Street subway station during rush hour in an apparent random attack, the NYPD said.

At around 5:30 pm on November 14, a 34-year-old man was waiting for the Number 2 Train on the platform of the Wall Street subway station. Cops said a man walked up to the straphanger, put his hands on the rider’s neck and squeezed. The choker then ran off.

The victim refused medical attention at the scene.

The NYPD released a photo of the suspect that appears to be taken from a cell phone on the platform at the time of the attack. It is unclear why the suspect attacked the straphanger.

The suspect is described as male with a dark complexion. who is between the ages of 25 and 30. He is 5 foot 10 and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a multicolored green jacket.
