At around 12:30 pm on September 12, an 83-year-old man was walking in the vicinity of East 169th Street and Simpson Street. A young man approached the senior and displayed a knife.
Cops said the robber removed the elderly victim’s wallet and cash. The suspect then fled on foot on East 167th Street heading toward Southern Boulevard.
Cops believe the same suspect struck a half hour earlier when he robbed a man inside a subway train.
At around noon on September 12, a 24-year-old man was riding on a southbound Number 2 train in the Bronx. As the train approached the Freeman Street train station, a man in a white hoodie approached him.
Cops said the man in the hoodie forcibly removed the victim’s backpack and then fled the train.
Police released surveillance video of the suspect running out of the train and running down the platform with the back pack in hand.
The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion and slim build. He was last seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and dark sneakers.
