BRONX - It was a scene out of the Fast and the Furious. Four men on ATVs hopped on the back of a moving tow truck to steal an ATV the driver was towing. Although the crooks were very brazen they were not very bright since they got caught on surveillance video with their masks down.
At around 7 pm on March 26, a tow truck operator was driving a flat bed truck on the Bruckner Expressway Service Road. A towed ATV was secured to the flatbed. In the vicinity of Ward Avenue and Boynton Avenue a large group of people on dirt bikes and ATVs approached the tow truck.
As the group encircled the driver, cops say several in the group hopped on the back of the moving flatbed. They released the ATV and drove it off the flatbed. The tow truck driver was not injured and he managed to snag photos of two of the four men stealing the four-wheel vehicle.
Cops say the ATV was recovered a short distance away cops responding to the 911 call.
Cops released photos of two of the suspects as well as a photo of a yellow Suzuki ATV. The four wheeler was used by the suspects in the robbery.
