At around 3:20 am on February 28, a 60-year-old man was standing next to his car parked in the vicinity if Macombs Road and West 176th Street when two men approached him. One of the men pulled out a knife.
The partner took the coat of the victim and removed the man’s wallet containing cash and credit cards.
The robbers then hopped into a blue Nissan and drove off.
Hours later cops say one of the robbers tried to use the stolen credit card. At around 3 pm the thief tried to use the card which was reported stolen at a restaurant on West Burnside Avenue.
When the card was rejected the suspect fled the restaurant but not before his image was captured on surveillance video inside the restaurant. The suspect is described as a male with medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a black winter coat and a gray camouflage winter cap.
