Westlake, La: It's cookie season again for Westlake Girl Scout Troop 1070, and these girls are motivated sellers. Their troop goal is to sell 15,000 boxes of cookies! 750 cases of cookies are being picked up this Friday and will be sold in a booth near you soon!
Cookies will be sold from February 11, 2022-March 6, 2022 so make sure you get them before they're gone! Booths will be popping up at major grocery stores such as Sam's Club, Kroger, Market Basket, and Albertsons starting February 11th. To find the closest cookie booths near you, type in your zip code here! That's just four weeks of selling, so don't snooze on these delicious cookies!
Girl Scout Troop 1070 sells multiple kinds of cookies that come from Little Brownie Bakers (LBB). This year's cookie lineup includes:
Thin Mints: Crisp, chocolaty cookies made with natural oil of peppermint
Samoas: Crisp cookies with caramel, coconut, and dark chocolaty stripes
Tagalongs: Crispy cookies layered with peanut butter and covered with a chocolaty coating
Do-si-dos: Oatmeal sandwich cookies with peanut butter filling
Trefoils: Traditional shortbread cookies
Adventurefuls: Indulgent, brownie-inspired cookies with caramel flavored creme and a hint of sea salt
Lemon-Ups: Crispy lemon cookies baked with inspiring messages to lift your spirits
Girl Scout S'mores: Graham sandwich cookies with chocolate and marshmallowy filling
Gluten-Free Toffee-Tastic: Rich, buttery cookies with sweet, crunchy toffee bits
Girl Scout cookies have been around since the 1970s, and sales help the girls of Troop 1070 fund their outings. There are many reasons to support Girl Scouts, but let's hear it from them!
I had the chance to ask the Girl Scouts of Troop 1070 what they like best about selling cookies, and here were their answers!
Daisies
The daisies like selling cookies because they taste so good!
Brownies
The Brownies like selling cookies because they love seeing people happy when they eat Girl Scout cookies and because it's an opportunity for people to support their troop!
Juniors
The Juniors like selling cookies because they get to make people happy, they enjoy filling orders for their customers, and they enjoy buying the cookies for themselves!
Seniors and Cadettes
The Seniors and Cadettes enjoy selling cookies because they love seeing smiles on people's faces, making people happy, and being able to help everyone!
I also got a chance to talk to the Seniors and Cadettes about what they love about being a Girl Scout!
Kayla says, "Learning new things."
Chloe says, "Getting to have fun."
Alexis says, "Being able to hang out with friends." Alexis also states selling cookies "helps go to camps, jamborees, and a whole bunch of fun stuff!"
Thank you to Girl Scout Troop 1070 and their families for their time and dedication, and best of luck on a successful Cookie Season!
