(Denver, CO) Is your New Year’s Resolution to learn something new in 2023? If so, why not try shucking oysters, a technique that uses a special paring knife to pop open those briny bivalves?
Il Posto is hosting a “Shucking 101” class from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Jan. 20. The entry times are staggered to ensure every guest gets a proper shucking tutorial, with ticket slots available at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. The $60 per person tickets (buy them here) come with all-you-can-eat oysters and a glass of welcome champagne.
A restaurant in Denver’s River North neighborhood, Il Posto’s food and wine menu is a sampling of cuisine throughout the boot-shaped Italian peninsula.
The event is hosted in collaboration with Tammen’s Fish Market, which is a full-service fish market in the Denver Central Market that Andrea Frizzi , also the chef and owner at Il Posto, helms.
Tammen’s sells whole, fresh seafood and offers scale and filet services from a case that features salmon, tuna, halibut, clams, lobster, mussels and more.
Denver Central Market guests can also dine in and enjoy a rotating menu of sandwiches, chowders, fish and chips, oysters on the half shell and more.
