(Denver, Colo) Say “prost” to United’s newest non-stop flight out of Denver International Airport. The airline, which has a hub at DIA, will fly daily to Germany’s famed Bavaria region by way of Munich Airport (MUC).
After being on pause for the past two years due to COVID-19, Oktoberfest returns to Munich this fall. The celebration will be Sept. 17-Oct. 3.
United’s new Munich flights come in addition to the airline’s existing service between Denver and Frankfurt (FRA).
It marks the first time the carrier has served two German destinations nonstop from Devner, and United’s transatlantic network from Denver in summer 2022 will be larger than at any other time in history.
United will also offer two daily flights to London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR), with the increased frequency to London scheduled to begin May 7.
DIA, which ranks as the third busiest airport globally, has a “sister-airport” agreement with Munich Airport that dates back to September 1991. The formal agreement was signed by former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb and gave way to Denver and Munich working collaboratively over the past three decades to exchange aviation expertise.
Flights to Munich will depart Denver in the late evening with a midafternoon arrival the following day. For those traveling to Denver or beyond with connections, the service will arrive at DEN in the early evening.
