A violent magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck the Banda Sea, along the Ring of Fire, west of the Pacific Ocean. California and the rest of the continental United States are on high alert following the magnitude 7.1 earthquake, and a second, highly volatile magnitude 6.7 earthquake that struck within the last twenty-four hours. Since California is on the eastern end of the Ring of Fire, any activity that has transpired within this seismic hot spot is nothing to be taken lightly.

The earthquakes reported below have stirred people living along the west coast of California, Oregon, and Washington. All earthquakes have been documented by USGS, one of the few credible and globally recognized seismic activity monitoring systems. UTC is an abbreviation for Coordinated Universal Time.

Magnitude 7.1 Earthquake Struck in the Banda Sea: On 8 November 2023 at 4:53 AM UTC, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck the Banda Sea at a depth of 10 km.

Magnitude 6.7 Earthquake Struck in the Banda Sea: On 8 November 2023 at 4:52 AM UTC, a magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck the Banda Sea at a depth of 10 km.
