As a makeup artist, I admire resilience in other artists able to keep up with trends, and as a 90’s baby, I admire subtle reminders of the decade. If anyone can relate, pay attention because I’ve happened to stumble upon something cool that perfectly combines the concepts of trendiness, resilience, and the 90s. To be clear, this is not a paid promo. I literally stumbled upon this brand and fell in love. So, let’s travel back in time by dialing it back thirty-ish years to the 90s.
Nosta Beauty is a makeup brand that (I feel) perfectly encapsulates the decade with its products. ‘Nosta’ is short for nostalgia, and the brand serves nothing but. Colors are inspired by 90s icons and trends, and the products are packaged to look like CDs and VHS tapes – it is so fun.
More importantly, the brand isn’t only about the packaging and presentation since I found the products to be genuinely incredible. Eye shadows are extremely pigmented and don’t clump or streak, and the face palette is super versatile – you can use the colors as blush or a lip tint, and they stay for hours with very minimal transfer.
The shades of all Nosta products will suit every skin tone with neutral and funky colors to play with. As if that wasn’t the bomb-dot-com already, the pallets come with a QR code that takes you to a 90s playlist of music so you can jam out while you're glamming.

The brand was founded in 2019 by Tiffany Tarazi, a second-generation makeup artist who wanted to create something that would be a fun reminder of the decade for Millennials and also serve as an opportunity for Gen-Z to try the trends. Tiffany was down on her luck in 2019, but retro was how she’d always rolled. She was determined to use her knowledge of the beauty industry and love for the era she grew up in to create something out of this world, and so she did. With a loving nudge from her husband, Steve, and the feel-good feelings provided by the nostalgic reminders in her own life, Tiffany created Nosta Beauty.
