If you love fireworks and you live in the New York/New Jersey area, you’re in luck since – weather permitting – firework shows will be held every night! All along the Hudson River, there will be fireworks displays from Friday night through Monday! If you or someone you know doesn’t love fireworks, perhaps avoid the following areas…

When purchased in advance, tickets are $10, at the gate tickets are $15. Live entertainment will be performing until the fireworks begin, rain date is scheduled for the following Saturday (July 9,) more information can be found here.

Sunday, July 3:

  • At 6 pm, Donaldson Park in Highland Park will be hosting Fireworks in the Park. The event runs until 10 pm, and fireworks begin at 9:20. The food truck selection at this Fourth of July celebration is quite impressive, as are the kids' activities. You can find the full list of food, entertainment, and any other info you may need here.

Monday, July 4:

  • Saving the best for last, New York holds some of the most patriotic, and truly American Fourth of July festivities.
  • Starting at noon at Independence Park, the 112th Annual Travis Day Parade will be held.
  • There will also be the beloved American tradition of the Nathan’s Hotdog Eating Contest on Coney Island.
  • Of course, there is America’s largest fireworks show, the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks. This year will be the 46th year Macy’s fireworks show has been in effect. Starting at 8 pm, a star-studded line-up is sure to keep people entertained. Fireworks begin at 9:25 pm and can be viewed at the designated viewing points here. All information about the celebrations in the City on July 4th is linked. Keep in mind that traffic in and out of the city will be heavier than usual. Plan accordingly.

If you can’t make it to any of the celebrations this weekend, you can still have a BBQ, purchase fireworks, or simply relax and watch it all on TV!
