The Monroe County, Ind. Emergency Management team has just announced new projects, construction operations, road closures, and utility services that might interrupt daily living for those living in Bloomington, Ind.

The management team post on the company’s Twitter account about the following projects and closures that might affect you throughout the week.

First, according to the management team, there are three areas that will experience road closures. These roads include Old State Road 37 N between Audubon Drive & Old Meyers Road, which will experience road closures that have occurred since March 6 and will continue through March 31.

The road closures start from 8 am-5 pm Monday through Friday, and this will not affect travel on weekends. The closure was designed by Crider & Crider company’s work on the city’s Bicentennial Pathways project according to the agency.

Another road closure will occur on Burma Road between Mount Pleasant Road and Buskirk Road on Wednesday, March 22-Friday, March 24 so Monroe County Crew members, appointed by the city, will replace a culvert on this street.

On Mount Pleasant Road and Wampler Road just outside of Burma Road in Bloomington, Monroe County crew members will be working on the same project, except March 20-22 will be the days this road will experience construction.

Other road closures include Knapp Road, Keller Crossing, Daniels Way, Zenith Road, and Wellness Road on Saturday, April 15 from 5 am-1 pm due to the Hoosier Half Marathon event on that Saturday.

Bridge and Stormwater Maintenance will be performed through different areas of Bloomington throughout the week from 7 am-3 pm. Dates and times are unknown, but the city assures the project will happen this week, and the city said, “There will be lane restrictions to control traffic.”

Utility work will occur on Bunger Road, Cedar Bluff Road, Bethel Lane at the intersection of Hinkle Road, Curry Pike North between Vernal Pike, Lintel Road, and Woodyard Road, Kirby Road, Gordon Pike, Fairfax Road, and Moffett Road to name a few roads experiencing utility projects.

All projects could be subject to change at any time weather permitting.

The management team will have all projects completed or done by the end of the week of March 19-25.
