Bobby Laurie

Norwegian Cruise Line is preparing for bigger things. It is already preparing to give passengers a different experience two years from now. Norwegian has announced their newest mega-ship the Norwegian Prima will home port from Galveston in winter 2023.

According to Norwegian Cruise Line, this will be the only ship to debut out of Galveston with a seven-day voyage to the Western Caribbean. The cruise line announced the Norwegian Prima as their “most in-demand” ship. The Norwegian Prima will have the ability to accommodate 3,215 guests at double occupancy.

Although the ship is still under construction in Italy, it already has received a lot of attention.

For one, its three-story theater will transform into a nightclub. There will also be a racetrack for go-karts. The track is 1,378 feet in length. Norwegian Prima’s track is 22% larger than Norwegian Encore’s track. The go-karts can also run up to 30mph.

For those who are after a different type of rush, the ship will feature The Drop, which is the first freefall dry slide. Passengers can experience a 10-story plunge. On top of that, The Rush will also feature dueling dry slides where guests can race each other.

Norwegian will also add a variety of entertainment options. Norwegian announced that the Tony-nominated production “Summer: The Donna Summer Musical” will be headlining once the cruise ship makes its debut. Also, an award-winning dance group Light Balance is expected to perform on the ship.

There will also be an expanded indoor virtual gaming complex. Plus, there will be a tide wave waterslide and some game shows. And on top of that, comedy fans will also have a good time with its comedy club.
