A 7-Eleven store in Los Angeles County was the location of a recent $1 million lottery ticket purchase. According to a press release from the California Lottery, the 7-Eleven convenience store located in West Covina on North Azusa Avenue recently sold a millionaire-making scratcher ticket.

Diamond 8’s ticket proves lucky for this winner

Elena Penaloza couldn’t believe her luck when she finished scratching the winning Diamond 8’s lottery ticket. The 16th square on the ticket revealed she had just won the game’s top $1 million prize. She went back to the 7-Eleven store the next day just to confirm she had really won.

While amazed at her good fortune, Penaloza admitted she had an intuition that perhaps she might be coming into some money soon. She told lottery officials that the week prior to her win, she had “itchy hands,” which she believed was a sign that windfall wealth might be coming her way.

Her superstitious belief certainly panned out, according to her daughter Ariana, who says her mom thinks her jackpot win was fate. Penaloza plans to celebrate her win with the purchase of a new house.

Do you believe in lottery intuition like the winner in this story?
