Do you have one of the winning tickets?

Three California lottery players matched five out of five numbers in a recent drawing, making their fantasy a reality: winning the Fantasy 5 jackpot.

Three winning tickets were sold for the Fantasy 5 drawing #10733 on March 27, 2023. Since they matched all five of the Fantasy 5 numbers drawn, each of the winning tickets is now worth $111,943.

Who were the lucky winners?

This was a very recent drawing. As of this writing, none of the winners has been identified.

What were the winning numbers?

The winning numbers for the California Fantasy 5 drawing on March 27, 2023 were 1, 7, 9, 14, and 36. You can also view these numbers and the various prize amounts on the Fantasy 5 draw results page. .

Where were the prize-winning Fantasy 5 tickets sold?

The three lucky tickets were sold by three Southern California lottery retailers: a Shell gas station, a 7-Eleven convenience store, and a Circle K convenience store. Each of the locations is shown on the following map. Click or touch the red icons for details about each location.

Multiple winners

If you look over the previous Fantasy 5 drawings, you may notice a sizable number of drawings with more than one winner. The current drawing, for example, had three winning tickets sold in the Southern California area.

I haven’t made a real study out of it, but the frequency of multiple jackpot winners for the Fantasy 5 game seems a lot higher than is the case for games like Powerball and Mega Millions.

Apparently, matching five numbers is a lot more likely than the six required for those huge jackpot games. Many have suggested that lotteries offer more realistic odds in return for more moderately sized jackpots. Perhaps games like Fantasy 5 represent a step in this direction.

Would you object to “only” winning $111,000?

Okay, that’s not much of a question. Anybody would be glad to have an extra hundred grand or more. But with the massive, multi-hundred-million-dollar jackpots regularly heard on the news, I wonder if winners of more modest amounts would feel a bit of envy.
