Starting this month, a new food tour focused on donuts will launch in Miami.
Known as the Underground Donut Tour, event founder Jeff Woelker tells News Break he's excited to bring his global walking food tour to South Beach, marking the tour's 12th city — with more on the way.
The tour brings guests to the best donut shops in each city, telling them the history of each of the shops, the surrounding neighborhood, and the city itself.
The Underground Donut Tour was founded seven years ago, and can be found in cities across the US, UK, and Ireland including Chicago, Philadelphia, New York City, Portland, Seattle, Boston, Nashville, New Orleans, London, and Dublin.
"Miami is obviously known for their amazing beaches, sunshine and nightlife, but they have some pretty spectacular donuts too," says Woelker. "We've put together an incredible tour that goes along the oceanfront and includes donuts, gelato, churros and even a rooftop bar at the end of the tour. We're also offering our Miami tours in both English and Spanish, so feel free to book whatever works better for you."
The tour will take guests to four donut shops in Miami's South Beach area, all the while sharing the history of each location, along with the local sights, sounds, and tastes of the area. The tour primarily takes place around famous landmarks like Ocean Drive and the beachfront, the area's historic art deco hotels, Lummus Park, Muscle Beach, and — of course — the donut shops along the way.
Tours begin this week and run every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday year-round starting at 10 a.m., with more days and times coming soon. Tickets are $40 for adults ($25 for kids 10 and under) and can be purchased by visiting undergrounddonuttour.com.
